I've been told by everyone around me I'll go far, the whole world just thinks that I'm a start, despite every wasted opportunity.
I've been told by everyone around me I'll be fine, the whole thing will come to me in time, despite every latent insecurity.

Look around but nothing ever happens in this endless sea of dependence. Can't take the risk, another day's gone, I'll just be let down.

And I don't care what anyone around me has to say, I know I'm not doing okay, and I won't give them that authority.
And I don't care about all their attempts to make me feel as though my success were something real, compared to the minor and majority.

Look around and see how far the bar falls. It's not too long before their minds stall. Under the pressure of acceptance I'll just be let down.

I can't see what's in front of me. All my failure's blinded by your insecurity. You can't be everything we need, if we're told to forge our own stories.
Raising your kids on just participation doesn't bode well for a generation. Thrust in the world with no preparation, you just have to tell me I'm not doing okay.
